Ghanaian actress and social media personality Akuapem Poloo has revealed that a former boyfriend once offered to pay for her to undergo buttocks enhancement surgery, but she refused after thinking it through carefully.
She shared this during an interview with Nana Romeo on Atu on June 7, 2026, where she explained that she initially gave the idea some serious consideration before changing her mind.
“I was once dating a man who told me to go and do buttocks enhancement surgery and he would pay for it. I nearly did it, but I thought about it thoroughly and decided not to do it,” she said.
According to her, the man often showed interest in women who had gone through cosmetic surgery, and this made her uncomfortable. She explained that his social media activity made it clear that he followed mostly women with enhanced bodies.
“Sometimes, you get frustrated, especially when you realise he only follows women who have undergone surgery on his social media platforms. We ladies normally do check the kind of women our men follow,” she stated.
Akuapem Poloo added that women in relationships usually observe their partners closely, even when men think they are not paying attention. She noted that people in love often discover more about their partners than they expect.
“When I’m in love with you, there are some things I would find out about you and you would think I don’t know,” she shared.
She further explained that some men may indirectly push their partners to change their bodies but later deny influencing such decisions. According to her, this can create pressure in relationships, even if it is not openly admitted.
“Some men frustrate their partners to enhance their body, but they would tend to deny the fact that they made you do it. They surround themselves with women who have enhanced their bodies, but they don’t end up marrying such women,” she claimed.
The actress also said that in her view, many men prefer natural bodies despite showing interest in enhanced figures. She believes this creates confusion for women who feel pressured to change their appearance.
“Most women who have done their body can’t keep men in their lives. That’s because men want their women to have a natural body. They don’t also respect because they think they have perfect body,” she added.
