MoMo vendors suspected killer caught hiding in Kpone

THE MAIN suspect in the gruesome killings of two Mobile Money operators in the Ashanti Region, identified as Martin Amoah aka ‘Baba Macho’, who was declared wanted by the police, all this while, was hiding in Accra.

Following a police intelligence operation, which has been described very successful, the suspect was eventually smoked out from his hiding place at Kpone, in the Greater Accra Region on March 27, 2025.

Prior to his arrest, the Ashanti Regional Police Command, had declared Baba Macho wanted immediately after they had arrested three other suspects, who are also males, in connection of the killings.

In a press statement, which was written on Thursday, by DSP Godwin Ahianyo of the Police Public Affairs Unit in the Ashanti Region, he said police relied on intelligence to arrest Baba Macho from his hideout.

According to him, the arrest of Baba Macho, who is due for court very soon, has now increased to four, the number of suspects that the police has arrested so far in the killings of the two Mobile Money operators.

“The suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as “Baba Macho, was apprehended on 27th March 2025 in Kpone, Greater Accra Region”, he said, adding “his arrest brings the total number of suspects arrested in connection with the incident to four”
