Nominations for GFA elections open Today

The Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association has released the roadmap to finalise its mandate by fixing the association’s Elective Congress for October 25, 2019.

But before that key exercise, nominations will open from today, September 16 for all positions and close on Friday, September 20.

This follows the adoption of new statutes and regulations for the Association on Thursday, September 5 at the auditorium of the College of Physicians Surgeons in Accra, at an Extarordinary Congress.

After a review of all nominations, vetting of aspirants will be conducted from September 26 to October 1, 2019.

George Afriyie, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, Fred Pappoe, Kwame Kyei, Tony Aubyn, Kurt Okraku have all put themselves forward as candidates to replace former president Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The NC went ahead to detail the guidelines for the upcoming elections and the most notable of them is that aspirants for the Presidency will have to pay GHS 5,000 in filing fees.
