Nothing Can Make Me Hate Samini – Stonebwoy Says

Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has expressed his deep appreciation for veteran musician Samini, saying nothing can ever make him develop hatred towards his mentor and godfather.

Speaking during a live TikTok session, the BHIM Nation President reflected on his journey in the music industry and highlighted the important role Samini played in helping him build his career.

Stonebwoy recalled that he first came into contact with Samini while he was in senior high school. He explained that he was told he would have the opportunity to join Samini’s team and pursue music after completing his education.

According to Stonebwoy, Samini welcomed him after senior high school and treated him like a younger brother. This, he said, is the reason he continues to see Samini as family and refers to him as his big brother rather than only a mentor.

The “Jejereje” hitmaker said his respect and love for Samini go beyond their professional relationship. He explained that regardless of any situation between them, he would never forget the support Samini gave him at the beginning of his career.

“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother.

“He is someone in my life, he cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad,” Stonebwoy said.

Stonebwoy began his music journey in the mid-2000s as a young artiste trying to make a name for himself in Ghana’s music industry. He was later discovered by Samini, who was one of the country’s biggest dancehall artistes at the time.

After meeting Samini, Stonebwoy became closely connected with him and learned more about the music business. He even lived at Samini’s father’s house while developing his skills and building his confidence as an artiste.

He later joined Samini Music, where he gained valuable experience and exposure. With time, Stonebwoy grew his brand, became an independent artiste and established his own record label, Bhim Nation.

Although the relationship between the two musicians faced challenges and moments of disagreement over the years, both artistes have continued to recognise the impact they have had on each other’s careers and Ghanaian music.

In late 2024 and early 2025, Stonebwoy and Samini publicly reunited and performed together, showing that their bond remained strong despite past issues.

For Stonebwoy, Samini remains one of the most important people in his musical journey. He continues to describe him as a big brother, a mentor and a major influence who helped shape him into one of Ghana’s leading musicians.
