Two Brothers Arrested Over Deadly Couple Shooting

Police have arrested two brothers over the shooting that killed a 54-year-old man and injured his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.

The Accra Regional Police Command, with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), arrested Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, following the incident on August 6, 2026.

The police said they received information that “a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, and required Police assistance.” Officers who went to the scene found 54-year-old Mohammed Rahman and his 53-year-old wife, Christiana Fosu, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.

The couple were rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. Fosu was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and remains on admission, “responding to treatment.”

Police have deposited the body of Rahman at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.

During interrogation, Adams allegedly admitted to shooting the couple on August 6. According to the police, he said he was motivated by his belief that Rahman had repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless”. He claimed the comments had affected him mentally.

Adams later led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where police recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting. The police said the weapon was “allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop” of Bala, who works with the deceased.

Investigations also established that Adams and Bala live together in the same room at Tuba.

Adams further told investigators that the pistol was allegedly given to him by a friend identified as Gideon. He led police to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but officers did not find him at home.

Meanwhile, Bala remains in custody and is being interrogated as police continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
