Woman Who Bit Customer’s Testicle Granted Bail

A 48-year-old Akpeteshie seller and farmer, Esi Affumwaa has been granted bail by the AssinFosu District Court for allegedly biting a customer’s testicle during a dispute over GH¢2.40.

His Worship Abdul Majid Iliasu granted her bail at GH¢10,000 with two sureties, one of whom must live within the court’s jurisdiction.

According to Prosecutor Inspector Matilda OsaahBuabeng, the incident happened on Wednesday, February 26, 2024, at about 4:30 pm at Assin Wurakese Camp in the AssinFosu Municipality, Central Region.

The victim, Karim Osman, a 36-year-old farmer, went to Affumwaa’s drinking spot to buy a cigarette. A disagreement over his unpaid GH¢2.40 debt turned into a heated argument.

“The accused attacked the complainant, hitting his head with firewood and biting his testicle, which caused a deep cut and heavy bleeding,” the prosecutor said.

Osman reported the incident to the police, leading to Affumwaa’s arrest. During questioning, she admitted to the act but said it was self-defense.

In court, she pleaded guilty with an explanation, saying Osman had caused her to fall, so she squeezed his testicle to defend herself.

The court has adjourned the case to March 13, 2024, for further hearing.
