NDC Members Cried Like Babies for Opuni

It has emerged that members of the largest opposition political party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in Kumasi, wept like babies when news first spread that ex-COCOBOD boss, Dr. Stephen Opuni, has been charged for corruption.

These NDC members and sympathizers in the Ashanti region certainly have deep affection for Dr. Opuni, and so they received the news of his possible prosecution for charges of corruption, with great shock.

Party members had stormed the party’s Ashanti Regional Office where they cried their hearts out to express their love and staunch support for the embattled COCOBOD ex-boss.

“Most of our party members in the Ashanti region, especially Kumasi, the capital city, could not believe their ears when news started to spread that Dr. Opuni had been charged for 27 counts when he was the COCOBOD CEO, Raymond Tandoh, Ashanti Regional NDC Scribe said.

He Continued: “Yes most of our loyal party members quickly filled the party office in their numbers after news broke that Dr. Opuni had been charged. It was a melancholic scene at the party office that day, as the party members were seen openly shedding tears for Dr. Opuni.”

According to Raymond Tandoh, the kind of support and love that members in the Ashanti region displayed for Dr. Opuni on that day, clearly shows that the former COCOBOD kingpin commands a lot of respect and love among the NDC members in the region.

The Ashanti Regional NDC scribe, like many other NDC members in the country, described Dr. Opuni’s charge for corruption as a political witch-hunt by the NPP administration, insisting that the immediate-past COCOBOD Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is innocent.

According to him, the NPPs wicked plans of getting Dr. Opuni incarcerated, for not beaching the law or committing any sin, would hit the snag, stressing that Dr. Opuni would be freed eventually as his accusers cannot prove their allegations in court.
