Woman Raped, Killed In Kumasi

The cold and stiff dead body of a lady believed to be about twenty years old has been found at Apire near Santase in the Ashanti Region.

Residents suspect she was most probably rapped before she was murdered because her cloths had been dropped down to her knee level, completely exposing her waist beads with her panties removed.

She is light skinned and was found virtually naked. She had soiled herself with human excreta, a sign that she may have struggled with her killers before her death.

No arrest has been made yet though the Police have picked up the lifeless body and commenced investigations.

Residents say she is not from the community

The discovery of the body, over the weekend, attracted scores of people to the bush, where the woman was found.

It looked as if the naked lady was on her knees as her neck, which seems broken, hung on a wooden bench, when she was found.

Almost all the people that rushed to the crime scene suspected that dead lady was raped by her killer.

“We don’t know her in this area”, Kwaku Agyare, a resident of the area said “from all indications she was gang-raped”.

He added that he suspected that the lady struggled with her killers “and that explains why there are toilet on her body”.

Other people that rushed to the scene rained curses on the killers.

Barely two weeks ago, there was a similar incident where  a 16-year old female student of the Juaben Senior High School (SHS), in the Ashanti Region, was found dead in a bush with her vagina completely removed and missing.

The body of the SHS student was found on Saturday June 21 in a decomposing state with a foul smell. The preliminary suspicion is that it could be a ritual murder incident.

The deceased, whose name is being withheld because of her age, was initially reported missing after she left home on Friday June 14, to charge her mobile phone in a friend’s house but never returned.

The unthinkable incident sent shock waves among residents of Ejisu-Jamasi in the Ashanti Region where the late student resided with her family until her death.

After she was not returning home on Friday June 14, her family lodged an official complaint with the police and immediately a search team was formed in the community to fish her out.

By then, speculations were that she could have been kidnapped. Six days into the search, there had been no tracing whatsoever of her.

It was on the seventh day of the search that a neighbor who was spraying disinfectant chemicals in a bushy area near his farm, found her decomposed body.

He said it was the foul smell from the body which caught his attention. He was not worried when he heard the smell because he was thinking it could be coming from the carcass of a dead animal. It was when he got nearer the source of the foul smell that he saw it was a dead girl.

He raised an alarm and alerted the community. The development was reported to the Police and the body was retrieved.

It was detected that the deceased’s sex organs and parts of her body had been cut off.
